The Village of Grand Rapids has an open seat on council.
According to a posting at Grand Rapids Town Hall:
Any interested Village Resident (must be a registered voter and a resident within the Village for 2 years) should submit their resume and letter of application which is to include the following information:
Name of Candidate
Residence Address
The date which the candidate became a Village Resident
The candidate’s experience, occupation, etc.
Why the candidate wants to be on Council.

According to the Ohio Revised Code, Chapter 731, Section 731.12 Qualifications of members of village legislative authority:
Each member of the legislative authority of a village shall have resided in the village one year immediately preceding the member's election, and shall be an elector of the village. No member of the legislative authority shall hold any other public office, be interested in any contract with the village, or hold employment with said village...
