ODOT Encourages Drivers to Use Caution on Old 24

The Ohio Department of Transportation is warning drivers and motorcycle riders to use caution on 295 between the Grand Rapids Bridge and South Berkey Southern Road in southern Lucas County.

Crews were working in the area last week and applied a chip seal treatment to the surface. The treatment, which helps prolong the pavement, requires an application of tar followed by gravel. The gravel is then compacted with ODOT's equipment and motorists traveling through the area.

A spokesperson from ODOT said the surface could take up to two weeks to "feel normal again," so drivers and riders are encouraged to use caution in the area due to the loose gravel.
